Project Yamuna Khet

Casual labour force in big numbers working as contract labour in the agricultural fields and in nurseries in and around Yamuna Khet area of East Delhi were found living in very miserable and unhealthy conditions. The foundation’s survey team found that 90% of the entire population of Yamuna bank river is suffering from various diseases like skin allergy, water borne diseases etc. The nearest government health centre is located at a distance between 8 to 10 k.m. away from their work site. The Trusties of the Foundation in the year 2013 decided to provide free health checkup facilities with essential medicines by sending a team consisting of a Doctor and paramedical staff at their door step. Ever since then regular services on weekly basis are being provided to all the residents. Around 70-80 patients are attended and looked after on each visit. Health conditions of these labourers is improving day by day.
